Preservation of french radio RCJ’s musical archives

From Israeli folk music to cantorial art

Created in 1981, the Jewish Community Radio RCJ (Radio Communautaire Juive) takes part in the Jewish community life in all aspects, in Paris and its region. Its goal is to maintain a relationship between its audience and the French Jewry, to adress a larger audience, Jewish as well as non-Jewish.

Since april 2014, the European Institute for Jewish Music is in charge of RCJ’s archives. This collection has more than a thousand documents, mainly LP discs, from Israeli folk music to the cantorial masterpieces.
