Laure Schnapper invites Ariane Matiakh, conductor, for the recent release of her new CD " Concertos for piano by Zara Levina", composer born in 1906, in Ukraine and who passed away in 1976, CD recorded with the symphonic orchestra of Berlin’s radio. Laure Schnapper is a musicologist and teacher at the EHESS. She is also president of the European Institute for Jewish Music.
After the publication of her PhD, she wrote several articles on the music in France in the 19th century, and a book, Henri Herz, the piano magnate. Musical life in France in the 19th century, which received the prize “Prix des Muses”. She also wrote about the degenerated music, and the composer Joseph Kosma.
She recently published articles about the composer Fernand Halphen (1872-1917), music leader during the Great War, and organized a concert of his works in the Museum of Art and History of Judaism in Paris.
