Der Komponist w\u00e4hlte mehrere Kapitel aus den Prophezeiungen des Jesaja aus dem Alten Testament. Die Auswahl und die Reihenfolge der Abfolge der verschiedenen Kapitelfragmente werden hier im Hinblick auf den Gesamtaufbau des Oratoriums und seinen Ausdrucksplan organisiert. Der Komponist wollte den Weg von der Angst \u00fcber ein Gebet und ein Lied der Hoffnung bis hin zur Freude durchlaufen. Tansman komponierte das Werk sowohl als Gedenkstein f\u00fcr die sechs Millionen Juden, die w\u00e4hrend des Zweiten Weltkriegs vernichtet wurden, als auch als Gru\u00df an die Gr\u00fcndung des Staates Israel. Die Komposition besteht aus sieben Teilen, darunter eine Fuge f\u00fcr das Orchester allein und ein Intermezzo f\u00fcr Blasinstrumente. Es ist die erste von drei Partituren, die Tansman in seinem gesamten Schaffen bevorzugte und die er mit einem gewissen Stolz betrachtete. Das Oratorium wurde 1952 im Franz\u00f6sischen Rundfunk vom Chor und dem Orchestre National unter der Leitung des Komponisten uraufgef\u00fchrt und erhielt drei Jahre sp\u00e4ter seine amerikanische Erstauff\u00fchrung in Los Angeles unter der Leitung von Franz Waxman sowie eine phonographische Aufnahme unter der Leitung von Paul van Kempen.<\/p>\n<p>Die vorliegende Aufnahme entstand am 9. November 2012 in Tansmans Geburtsstadt Lodz anl\u00e4sslich des Er\u00f6ffnungskonzerts des 9. Alexander-Tansman-Wettbewerbs und -Festivals.<\/p>\n<p>Es enth\u00e4lt auch eine Aufnahme der <em>Psalmen 118, 119<\/em> und <em>120<\/em>, die Tansman 1960-61 vertonte.<\/p>\n<p>Besetzung: Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonisches Orchester und Chor Lodz, Dirigent Daniel Raiskin, Tenor, Rafal Bartminski, Stowarzyszenie Promocji Kultury im.
