Jahrhunderts zwang der Aufstieg totalit\u00e4rer Regime in Europa fast drei Millionen Juden zur Auswanderung in die Vereinigten Staaten \u2013 das neue Gelobte Land. Unter ihnen befanden sich zahlreiche Komponisten wie die \u00d6sterreicher Max Steiner (1888\u20131971) und Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897\u20131957), der Deutsche Franz Waxman (1908\u20131967), der Ungar Mikl\u00f3s R\u00f3zsa (1907\u20131995), der Pole Bronis\u0142aw Kaper, der Russe Irving Berlin oder der Ukrainer Dimitri Tiomkin (1894\u20131979). Sie lie\u00dfen sich an der Westk\u00fcste nieder und trugen zur Entstehung des Hollywood-Kinos bei. Sie brachten ihr Know-how aus der postromantischen europ\u00e4ischen Musik ein und vermischten es mit der amerikanischen Kultur und dem Jazz, um eine neue Musik zu schaffen. Diese wurde zum Markenzeichen der gr\u00f6\u00dften Hollywood-Filme (<em>The Jazz Singer<\/em> (1927), <em>The Prince and the Pauper<\/em> (1937), <em>Gone With The Wind<\/em> (1939), <em>Jungle Book<\/em> (1942), <em>Summer Place<\/em> (1959), <em>Ben-Hur<\/em> (1959) usw.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die CD \u201eExile to Hollywood\u201c, interpretiert von der Geigerin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/de\/isabelle-durin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Isabelle Durin<\/a> und dem Pianisten Michael Ertzscheid, zelebriert eine Musik der Freiheit, der kulturellen Vermischung und der Widerstandsf\u00e4higkeit. Sie entf\u00fchrt auf eine mitrei\u00dfende Reise ins Herz des <em>Golden Age<\/em> (1930er\u20131960er Jahre), in dem das Exil zur Quelle der Kreativit\u00e4t und des Glanzes wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"582\" height=\"594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Photo-isabelle-durin-cd-musique-et-cinema-homepage.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-133308\" style=\"width:206px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Photo-isabelle-durin-cd-musique-et-cinema-homepage.jpg 582w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Photo-isabelle-durin-cd-musique-et-cinema-homepage-294x300.jpg 294w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 582px) 100vw, 582px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Herv\u00e9 Roten hat Isabelle Durin zur Ver\u00f6ffentlichung dieser neuen Aufnahme interviewt.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HR: Isabelle Durin, wie ist Ihnen die Idee gekommen, diese CD zu produzieren, die den j\u00fcdischen Komponisten des Goldenen Zeitalters gewidmet ist?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ID: In unseren beiden vorherigen Alben (\u201eM\u00e9moire et Cin\u00e9ma\u201c und \u201eUn violon dans l\u2019Histoire\u201c) haben Micha\u00ebl Ertzscheid und ich anhand der bekanntesten Filmmusikst\u00fccke das Universum j\u00fcdischer Traditionen und die unterschiedlichen Darstellungen des Zweiten Weltkriegs im Kino erkundet. Zuf\u00e4llig hatte ich f\u00fcr ein Konzertprojekt rund um Jazz im Kino ein Programm mit Werken von Bernstein, Mancini, Legrand und Hurwitz zusammengestellt und dabei mein Augenmerk auch auf zwei Themen gerichtet, die sich gut f\u00fcr die Violine eignen: \u201eBlue Skies\u201c und \u201eThe Valley of the Dolls\u201c, komponiert von Irving Berlin und Andre Previn. Nach einigen Recherchen zu ihrer pers\u00f6nlichen Geschichte stellte ich fest, dass sie eine gemeinsame Vergangenheit hatten: Sie hatten ihre jeweiligen Heimatl\u00e4nder \u2013 das Russische Reich im Falle von Irving Berlin und Deutschland im Falle von Andre Previn \u2013 aufgrund der Verfolgung der Juden verlassen. Daraufhin begann ich zu recherchieren, welche Komponisten dieser Zeit (der 1920er- und 1930er-Jahre) Europa verlassen hatten, um in Hollywood Zuflucht zu suchen. Zwischen Irving Berlin, der den Beginn dieses goldenen Zeitalters markiert, und Andre Previn, der es gewisserma\u00dfen abschlie\u00dft, habe ich weitere Komponisten entdeckt oder wiederentdeckt, wie Max Steiner, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Franz Waxman, Miklos Rozsa, Dimitri Tiomkin&#8230; Ich habe Ihre Filmmusiken angeh\u00f6rt, von denen eine sch\u00f6ner war als die andere; ich bin in dieses Universum eingetaucht, in dem die Melodie die Hauptrolle spielt, und habe mir vorgestellt, wie all diese Kl\u00e4nge auf der Violine und dem Klavier erklingen. Nach dieser langen Recherchearbeit habe ich mich auf 15 Titel festgelegt und begonnen, deren Arrangements auszuarbeiten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Erster Schritt: Papier und Bleistift, wenn die Orchesterpartitur nicht zu finden war! Stunden um Stunden, die Kopfh\u00f6rer fest auf den Ohren, um die verschiedenen Stimmen herauszuh\u00f6ren und sie f\u00fcr Violine und Klavier neu zu arrangieren! Sobald ich den Violinstimmus fertig notiert hatte, schickte ich ihn an Micha\u00ebl, damit er seinen Part schreiben oder arrangieren konnte. Manchmal fanden wir im Internet Noten oder Klavierausz\u00fcge, die uns bei dieser heiklen Arbeit halfen, bei der es eher um Transkription als um Arrangement ging.
