Seine Einzigartigkeit liegt in der Kombination von drei Hauptmerkmalen, n\u00e4mlich dem Liederrepertoire, der musikalischen Darbietung und der Bedeutung, welche der Dokumentation dieser Lieder beigemessen wird. Es handelt sich um ein wahres Schmuckst\u00fcck f\u00fcr Amateure der traditionellen Musik, f\u00fcr alle jene, die sich sehns\u00fcchtig an diese Kultur und an diese Epoche erinnern wollen, oder sich genauer mit diesem, wenig bekannten, aber dennoch \u00fcberaus geschichts- und erinnerungstr\u00e4chtigen Repertoire besch\u00e4ftigen wollen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hadass Pal-Yarden<\/strong>, eine israelische Forscherin und auf Jud\u00e4o-Spanisch singende S\u00e4ngerin, hat sich f\u00fcr dieses Album sowohl von sephardischen Berichten inspirieren lassen, welche sie auf ihren Reisen durch das ehemalige Ottomanische Reich (Thessaloniki, Jerusalem, Istanbul, Izmir\u2026) erz\u00e4hlt bekam, als auch von den ihr zug\u00e4nglichen Archiven der Feldaufnahmen.<\/p>\n<p>Das umfassend dokumentierte Begleitheft der CD bietet neben der Quelle aller enthaltenen Titel, auch eine historische, sprachliche und geographische Perspektive auf die als Sephardim bekannten spanischen Juden und zudem wird \u00fcber den aktuellen Kontext der jud\u00e4o-spanischen Musik informiert. Letztere entwickelte sich \u00fcber das 20. Jahrhundert hinweg st\u00e4ndig weiter, wobei sie allm\u00e4hlich ihre urspr\u00fcngliche Funktion, als Teil der traditionellen Rituale innerhalb der Gemeinschaft verlor, allm\u00e4hlich
