Der Walzer wurde im Wien der 1780er Jahre bekannt und verbreitete sich daraufhin im ganzen Westen. Es handelt sich bei dem Walser um einen Tanz im \u00be Takt, mit einem betonten ersten Schlag, gefolgt von zwei schwachen Schl\u00e4gen, zu welchem sich das umschlungene Paar\u00a0 \u00fcber die Tanzfl\u00e4che bewegt und sich dabei um sich selbst dreht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In Frankreich f\u00fchrte die Revolution von 1789 f\u00fcr den Niedergang der H\u00f6ft\u00e4nze und zur Verbreitung des Walzers. Die Einf\u00fchrung von Parkett und Lederschuhen erm\u00f6glichten den \u00dcbergang von gesprungenen zu gleitenden Schritten. Ab 1840 wurden die Gesellschaftst\u00e4nze klar von den Ballett\u00e4nzen getrennt und wurden fortan von Gesellschaftstanzlehrern unterrichtet.<\/p>\n<h3>Der Walzer: Eine bei j\u00fcdischen Kom\u00fconisten sehr beliebte Musikgattung<\/h3>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend des Zweiten Kaiserreichs schrieb <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/de\/waldteufel-emile-1837-1915\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emile Waldteufel<\/a> zahlreiche T\u00e4nze (Walzer, Mazurken\u2026), welche ihn ber\u00fchmt machen sollten. Da ihn Eug\u00e9nie besonders sch\u00e4tzte, wurde er 1865 zum Musikdirektor des h\u00f6fischen Tanzs am Hof von Napoleon III. und zum Pianisten der Kaiserin ernannt. Als solcher war er verwantwortlich f\u00fcr die ber\u00fchmten Tanzabende von Biarritz und Compi\u00e8gne. Ab 1867 begleitete Waldteufels Orchester die B\u00e4lle im Tuilerien-Palast, er trat somit die Nachfolge von <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/de\/strauss-isaac-1806-1888\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isaac Strauss<\/a> an und wurde von Berlioz in seinen Memoiren als \u201eder Strauss von Paris\u201c bezeichnet.<\/p>\n<p>In der zweiten H\u00e4lfte des 19. Jahrhunderts schrieben viele Komponisten \u2013 wie Johan Strauss Junior, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/de\/offenbach-jacques-1819-1880\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacques Offenbach<\/a> und <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/de\/hahn-reynaldo-1874-1947\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reynaldo Hahn<\/a> \u2013 Walzerst\u00fccke, welche zur Absoluten Musik erhoben wurden, neben Tausenden von Walzern, welche f\u00fcr die Begleitung des Tanzes geschrieben wurden.<\/p>\n<p>Das 20.
