Jahrhunderts bis hin zu den typisch amerikanischen Liedern und einfachen Melodien, die lange Zeit von seiner Frau verteidigt und aufgenommen wurden, aber immer noch in Mode sind, weil sie so formidabel fesselnd sind.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Biografie, die durch zahlreiche Illustrationen und Musikbeispiele erg\u00e4nzt wird, ist die erste, die seit \u00fcber 15 Jahren auf Deutsch herausgegeben wurde.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Kurt Weill (1900-1950), ein amerikanischer Komponist deutscher Herkunft, studierte an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik in Berlin Komposition, Kontrapunkt und Dirigieren. Im Jahr 1920 arbeitete er mit Busoni zusammen und komponierte 1921 seine erste Symphonie.<\/p>\n<p>Immer auf der Suche nach einer Sprache, die sich an ein m\u00f6glichst breites Publikum richtet, vermischt seine Sprache die Techniken der modernen Musik (Atonalit\u00e4t, Polytonalit\u00e4t, Jazz&#8230;), die man schon in seinen ersten Opern findet: <em>Der Protagonist, Royal Palace<\/em>. Aus seiner ersten Zusammenarbeit mit Brecht entstand 1927 das St\u00fcck <em>Mahagonny-Songspiel<\/em>. Im Jahr darauf entstand aus dieser vierh\u00e4ndigen Arbeit die Oper L&#8217;op\u00e9ra de quat &#8217;sous, die das Musiktheater revolutionierte, indem sie den Kapitalismus und die etablierte Ordnung unter Beschuss nahm.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-23015\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/l_829_couv4_remim_450px_vertic.jpg\" alt=\"l_829_couv4_remim_450px_vertic.jpg\" width=\"319\" height=\"450\" align=\"right\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/l_829_couv4_remim_450px_vertic.jpg 319w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/l_829_couv4_remim_450px_vertic-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Weill, der ein vielseitiges und produktives Werk schuf, ging 1933 ins franz\u00f6sische Exil und f\u00fchrte in Paris mehrere Werke auf, darunter <em>Les sept p\u00e9ch\u00e9s capitaux<\/em> im Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs \u00c9lys\u00e9es, bevor er endg\u00fcltig vor den Nazis in die USA floh, wo er den Rest seines Lebens als amerikanischer Staatsb\u00fcrger verbrachte.<\/p>\n<p>Der Autor, Bruno Giner*, gibt einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber das umfangreiche musikalische Schaffen des mit einer ph\u00e4nomenalen Arbeitskapazit\u00e4t begabten Komponisten, in dem die gro\u00dfen Themen eines \u00e4u\u00dferst koh\u00e4renten Denkens unterschwellig auftauchen: Pazifismus, Antimilitarismus, Satire auf die Diktatur, Kritik am Kapitalismus, Materialismus und an der Rassentrennung.<\/p>\n<p>Seine Musik ist stark von der Variet\u00e9musik und den Rhythmen des amerikanischen Jazz beeinflusst: <em>Happy End, Silverlake, Railroads, Lady in the Dark<\/em>, womit er eine echte Br\u00fccke zwischen der deutschen und der amerikanischen Musikkultur schl\u00e4gt.
