{"id":95280,"date":"2023-03-07T11:35:22","date_gmt":"2023-03-07T10:35:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/chamber-works-by-alberto-hemsi\/"},"modified":"2025-10-19T17:43:55","modified_gmt":"2025-10-19T15:43:55","slug":"chamber-works-by-alberto-hemsi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/de\/chamber-works-by-alberto-hemsi\/","title":{"rendered":"Chamber Works by Alberto Hemsi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chandos Records Ltd, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Im Juli 2004 spendete Myriam Capelluto Hemsi, die Witwe des Sammlers und jud\u00e4o-spanischen Komponisten\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/de\/hemsi-alberto-1898-1975\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alberto Hemsi<\/a> (1896-1975), die Archive ihres Mannes dem Europ\u00e4ischen Institut f\u00fcr J\u00fcdische Musik. Dieses Archiv enthielt insbesondere 226 gedruckte und handschriftliche Partituren von Alberto Hemsi, darunter viele unver\u00f6ffentlichte Werke, die heute im Katalog des IEMJ einsehbar sind.<\/p>\n<p>Ein wichtiger Teil von Hemsis Werk ist mit der jud\u00e4o-spanischen Musik verbunden, die er als Kind im Ottomanischen Reich kennengelernt hatte. Nach einem soliden Musikstudium in Mailand (Italien) zwischen 1913 und 1919 begann Hemsi nach seiner R\u00fcckkehr in sein Heimatland mit ethnografischen und folkloristischen Forschungen. Er interessierte sich dabei besonders f\u00fcr \u00e4ltere Frauen und die Cantaderas, semiprofessionelle S\u00e4ngerinnen, welche f\u00fcr ihre sch\u00f6ne Gesangsstimme bekannt waren und die von Familien zur Feier besonderer Anl\u00e4sse, wie Hochzeiten oder anderen Festlichkeiten, eingeladen wurden. So sammelte und kompilierte er 60 traditionelle j\u00fcd\u00e4o-spanische Lieder (Die Coplas Sefardies), f\u00fcr die er eine originelle Klavierbegleitung schrieb, die an die gro\u00dfen Komponisten-Pianisten der Jahrhundertwende erinnert &#8211; Enrique Granados, Isaac Alb\u00e9niz und insbesondere Manuel de Falla und Maurice Ravel.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-95252 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/alberto-hemsi-20-ans-192x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"192\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/alberto-hemsi-20-ans-192x300.jpg 192w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/alberto-hemsi-20-ans.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 192px) 100vw, 192px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Die Coplas Sefardies wurden seit 1990 mehrfach auf CD ver\u00f6ffentlicht (mit den S\u00e4ngern oder S\u00e4ngerinnen Mira Zakai, Pedro Aledo, Assaf Levitin, Tehila Nini Goldstein&#8230;), aber Hemsis Instrumentalwerke wurden bislang noch nie aufgenommen. Das ARC Ensemble aus Toronto macht dieses Vers\u00e4umnis mit der Ver\u00f6ffentlichung der CD <em>Chamber Works by Alberto Hemsi<\/em> im Oktober 2022 wieder gut. Die CD, die bei Chandos in der Reihe &#8222;Music in Exile&#8220; erschienen ist, bietet eine Auswahl von f\u00fcnf Instrumentalwerken Hemsis, die von Marie B\u00e9rard, Erika Raum und Emily Kruspe (Violinen), Steven Dann und Julien Altmann (Violen), Tom Wiebe (Cello) und Kevin Ahfat (Klavier) hervorragend interpretiert werden.<\/p>\n<p>Die vielen dieser Werke werden als Weltpremiere aufgef\u00fchrt. So geht es in <em>Danze nuziali greche<\/em> (Griechische Hochzeitst\u00e4nze) f\u00fcr Violoncello und Klavier, op. 37, wahrscheinlich das letzte Werk, das Hemsi vor seinem Umzug nach Paris fertigstellte, um drei Teilnehmer einer Hochzeit: die Schwiegermutter, die Braut und den Patenonkel. Die zwei j\u00fcdischen Philanthropen gewidmeten <em>Tre Arie Antiche (dalle \u2018Coplas Sefardies\u2019)<\/em> f\u00fcr Streichquartett, op. 30, sind Transkriptionen von drei Liedern, die Hemsi urspr\u00fcnglich mit Klavierbegleitung arrangiert hatte. Die <em>Pilp\u00fal Sonata<\/em> f\u00fcr Violine und Klavier, op. 27, greift die ironischen Aspekte der talmudischen Argumentation auf und schafft so ein fesselndes Werk, das Elemente des Jazz und des Impressionismus einbezieht. <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-95257 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/photo-Arc-Ensemble-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/photo-Arc-Ensemble-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/photo-Arc-Ensemble.jpg 333w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: var(--bs-body-color); font-family: var(--bs-body-font-family); font-weight: var(--bs-body-font-weight); text-align: var(--bs-body-text-align); background-color: var(--bs-body-bg);\">Im <\/span><em style=\"font-size: revert; color: var(--bs-body-color); font-family: var(--bs-body-font-family); font-weight: var(--bs-body-font-weight); text-align: var(--bs-body-text-align); background-color: var(--bs-body-bg);\">Quintet<\/em><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: var(--bs-body-color); font-family: var(--bs-body-font-family); font-weight: var(--bs-body-font-weight); text-align: var(--bs-body-text-align); background-color: var(--bs-body-bg);\"> f\u00fcr Viola und Streichquartett op. 28 brach Hemsi mit der Verwendung sephardischer Themen und schloss einen Satz ein, der einen stampfenden Tanz imitiert, und einen anderen, der einer englischen Gigue verbl\u00fcffend \u00e4hnlich ist.
