DESCRIPTION:Workshops and concerts in Paris with ADRIANNE GREENBAUM\nJoin us for a special Klezmer and Baroque flute Weekend: Workshops and concerts in Paris with legendary flautist\, recording artist and klezmer composer ADRIANNE GREENBAUM\, celebrating her 50th professional anniversary with a Klezmer and Baroque Weekend in Paris\, France\, from June 30th to July 2nd! \nAs the foremost pioneering purveyor of the klezmer flute\, she will kick off the festivities with a mini-concert of soulful and upbeat klezmer dance and rarely-heard gypsy baroque tunes. This is your chance to experience the music firsthand and get a taste of what’s to come in the weekend’s workshops\, including a little dancing! \nParticipants will receive PDFs of the repertoire ahead of time to come prepared to play. All repertoire will be chosen for playability and to share with performing partners or students. The workshop is open to adults of intermediate to advanced level and will also benefit professionals wanting to broaden their musical sources. \nThe fee for the entire weekend\, including the Friday night concert\, all-day workshops on Saturday and Sunday (with a lunch break)\, and a participant mini-concert at the end\, is 160 €.\nEarly Bird registration before April 20th is just 135 €.\nAuditors/listeners can join us for just 80 € for the weekend (no early bird). DESCRIPTION:From July 15 to August 19\, 2023\n\nOur goal in 2023 is to go more deeply into Yiddish music in the Ottoman context\, an incredibly rich and centuries-old transcultural matrix. As always\, we offer immersion-style workshops in Yiddish language\, instrumental and vocal music and dance in a warm and supportive atmosphere. Our teachers are leading international artists and scholars in their fields. Everyone is welcome\, and there are workshops for every level of experience\, from absolute newcomers to professionals. This year\, we are working on a new concept – a Festival Weekend. There will be hands-on workshops\, lectures\, city tours\, concerts and large-scale outdoor events\, but concentrated in two days instead of spread out over four or five.
