The first part of the concert

the Open Chamber Orchestra wishes, for the beginning of the 2018-2019 season, to make discover to the French audience two Jewish European composers who, fleeing the rise of Nazism in the 1930’s, took refuge in Palestine :

  • Paul Ben-Haïm (1897-1984), German composer, who became world known with his Sonata for violin created and recorded by Yehudi Menuhin,
  • Ödön Partosh (1907-1977), of Hungarian origin, viola-solo of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and director of the Rubin academy in Tel- Aviv,

A third composer, French, appears, Olivier Greif : Greif learns at the Paris Conservatory and with Luciano Berio. He composes strong works that use in particular the voice as the main tune.

The second part of the concert

The second part will be dedicated to the great work written for string orchestra, the Serenade by Tchaïkovski.

Born in Bucarest in 1965, the soliste Teodor Coman wins in 1986 the Second Grand Award at the International Contest « Maurice Vieux » in Lille. He then record regularly at the Romanian TV and radio.
