4th edition of the Nuit de la Théologie - Hear the sacred

Conference given as part of the Nuit des idées, " The night of theology - 4th edition - Hear the sacred ", organized by the Villa Gillet and the Institution des Chartreux in Lyon, which took place on January 30, 2020, in partnership with the Fonds de dotation des Chartreux and RCF.

Which role plays religion in the music culture ?
Wether it is an accompaniment to the cult, an expression of the worshippers or the work of non-religious composers, music holds a particular place in the religions.
Three people will discuss this question, Jean During, ethnomusicologist, specialist of music from Central Asia, Hervé Roten, musicologist specialized in Jewish music and director of the European Institute for Jewish Music and Jean-Clément Jollet, musicologist.
