D’Edirne à Paris

Stella Gutman

Concert of Sefardi songs, recorded in April 2014, performed by Stella Gutman, with Jean-Lou Descamps and Olivier Marcaud, on sale on the EIJM’s online shop.

Recorded live in Paris in April 2014, Stella Gutman sings on this great album Sefardi songs in Ladino. She carries this heritage and passes on the language and songs of her childhood, given by her parents, native of Turkey.

For this program, she is accompanied by two excellent musicians : Jean-Lou Descamps (violin, tambura, lauta) and Olivier Marcaud (vocals, percussions). The skills of Jean-Lou Descamps with the ethnic instruments and traditional music, combined with the beautiful voice of Olivier Marcaud responding to Stella Gutman, or as a solo, make of this album a real jewel.

Jean Carasso (Z"L), big defender of the Judeo-Spanish culture and founder of the periodical La Lettre Sépharade, testifies of its quality : "One of the best performances that has come to us".

Stella Gutman completes this repertoire with a very nice Hebrew lullaby, and a song in Yiddish.
D’Edirne à Paris, chants séfarades, yiddish et hébreu, produced by Anima et Cie, is now available on the EIJM’s online shop.
