Shalom Bakou

A film by Murielle Levy

DVD

This documentary by Murielle Levy will take you from the capital city Bakou to the mountains of Guba and Ogouz. The people encountered during this trip all testify of their love for Azerbaijan and for the mutual respect in which live the various religious communities in this region.

Murielle Levy met the Jewish communities of Azerbaijan.
Before her departure, she knew nothing about this country.
Where to situate it on a map ? What is its population ?
Between the Caucasus Mountains and the Caspian Sea, in a secular Shia Muslim country, she discovers a Jewish community of about 25 000 people.
The Jews from Azerbaijan are for most of them originary of the mountains, or Ashkenazi.

The film maker found there peace, Shalom.
