French Jewish radio RCJ’s music archives

From Israeli folk music to cantorial art

Created in 1981, the Jewish Community Radio RCJ (Radio Communautaire Juive) takes part in Jewish community life in all aspects, in Paris and its region. Its goal is to maintain a relationship between its audience and French Jewry, to reach a larger audience, Jewish as well as non-Jewish.

The European Institute of Jewish Music has been in charge of RCJ’s archives since April 2014. This collection has more than a thousand documents, mainly LP discs, from Israeli folk music to cantorial masterpieces.
