La source de vie : Esther in songs

LA SOURCE DE VIE - DIMANCHE 4 MARS 2012 - 9h15 - FRANCE 2 TELEVISION
A TV show by Josy Eisenberg

A TV show presented by Josy Eisenberg, with Hervé Roten, ethnomusicologist, director of the French Center for Jewish Music and of the department of music at Foundation of French Judaism.

The biblical story of queen Esther who saved the Jews of Persia from extermination inspired many artists. In particular, it gave birth to an oratorio named "Ester", which is today the most important Jewish art music work written in the 18th century by Italian composer Giuseppe Lidarti (1730-after 1793).
