The central legacy of liturgical poetry among Moroccan Jews, this art form has undergone a remarkable revival in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>On August 19, 2024, Ariel Danan, paytan <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_116731_1('footnote_plugin_reference_116731_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_116731_1('footnote_plugin_reference_116731_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_116731_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[1]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_116731_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Interpreter of religious poetry (piyyutim)<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_116731_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_116731_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], });<\/script> and cantor, trained with the greatest masters of this tradition, visited the premises of the European Institute of Jewish Music to retrace the history of this liturgical poetry and give musical examples.<\/p>\n<p>With the participation of Ephraim Kahn, he recorded the <em>baqqashot<\/em> usually sung at dawn on Saturday, when the <em>parasha<\/em> <em>Bo<\/em><span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_116731_1('footnote_plugin_reference_116731_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_116731_1('footnote_plugin_reference_116731_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_116731_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[2]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_116731_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">The reading of the Torah, the Pentateuch, became the essential moment of synagogal worship from Ezra the Scribe onwards (5th century BC).
