of a nation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This 33 RPM disc, which includes a preface written by Joseph Kessel, from the Acad\u00e9mie Fran\u00e7aise and illustrated by Marc Chagall, was released for the 25th anniversary of the creation of the state of Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Its booklet, richly documented, gathers historical photographies as well as the original texts of the declarations of David Ben Gourion, Golda Meir, Asher Ben Natan, and the messages of Jacob Kaplan, Great Rabbi of France, Ren\u00e9 Cassin, Peace Nobel Prize&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em>(see calameo below)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This disc gathers the following audio testimonies :<\/p>\n<p>-The original recording of the vote session of the U.N.O., on the 29th of November 1947, which led to the creation of the state of Israel<br \/>-The proclamation of Independance given byDavid Ben Gourion, on the 14th of May 1948<br \/>-The message of Golda Meir (Israel&#8217;s first minister)<br \/>-The d\u00e9claration of Asher Ben Natan (ambassador of Israel in Paris)<\/p>\n<p>-The national anthem of Israel \u00ab Hatikvah \u00bb, sung by the members of the National Council<br \/>-The song \u00ab Yerushala\u00efm Shel Zahav \u00bb (Jerusalem of gold) by Naomi Shemer, performed by the Choir of the Great Synagogue of Paris.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter size-full wp-image-23700\" sizes=\"(max-width: 561px) 100vw, 561px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The dream of a Jewish state started in 1897, in Basel in Switzerland with the first zionist congress led by Theodore Herzl.<br \/>Herzl would later say, about the congress : \u00ab in Basel, I founded the Jewish state \u2026 if you want, it won&#8217;t be just a dream. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>After the Balfour declaration, in 1917, in which the first English foreign affairs minister, Lord Arthur James Balfour, acknowledged the right of the Jewish people to have a national home in Palestine, the League of Nations established in 1922 the British mandate.<br \/>This mandate aimed to settle in Palestine a \u00ab national home for the Jewish people \u00bb on the base of a historical link between the Jewish people and Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>Two years after the second world war where six million Jews were killed, the United Nations Organisation (U.N.O) voted, on the 29th of Novembre 1947, the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine, along with 33 countries.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter size-full wp-image-23702\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/doc_2_renaissance2.jpg\" alt=\"doc_2_renaissance2.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"424\" align=\"middle\"
