Her maternal grandparents came to Buenos Aires from Khmelnits (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Khmelnytskyi,_Ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Khmelnitsky<\/a>) around 1920, escaping from pogroms. Her mother was born in Argentina in 1924. Her father was born in Lodz, Poland, in 1921 and arrived in Buenos Aires in 1950, after having traveled through some Latin American countries after the war.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yiddish was part of my daily life. Peretz Yiddish School. Jacinta is the 1st in the 3rd row, elementary school<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A successful student in elementary school and in Yiddish school, she was noticed by her music teachers and often sang solo on celebrations or during commemorations, such as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. At the age of six, she joined a choir and, at twelve, led a small vocal ensemble of Argentine and Yiddish music. The following year, she performs at the Avignon Festival in the show <em>Le Chant profond juif<\/em> (The Deep Jewish Song) by the actress and radio and television producer Eve Griliquez. She performs Judeo-Spanish songs with the ensemble Kol Aviv, the Yiddish singer Talila and the actors Michel de Maulne and Jean-Paul Lahore. Accompanying herself on the guitar or followed by a pianist, she interprets tango in a personal, tender style, covering Carlos Gardel, Homero Manzi and introducing her own compositions in Spanish, which often refer to her childhood, to her Russian Jewish grandparents, while mentioning the contribution of immigrants to Argentine tango.<\/p>\n<p>Success being at the rendezvous, she registers in 1982 at Carri\u00e8re her first 33 rpm record <em>Tango mi coraz\u00f3n<\/em>. Two years later, she produces a cassette, Du baroque espagnol au tango, and participates in a tribute to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Osvaldo_Pugliese\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Osvaldo Pugliese<\/a>, in his presence, at the Bataclan, in Paris.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_92661\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-92661\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-92661 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/I_430_Jacinta-dans-le-spectacle-Le-Dibouk-300x256.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/I_430_Jacinta-dans-le-spectacle-Le-Dibouk-300x256.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/I_430_Jacinta-dans-le-spectacle-Le-Dibouk.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-92661\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Jacinta in the show Le Dibouk<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition, Jacinta performs in the Cinema in a movie by Ulrike Ottinger, <em>Johanna d&#8217;Arc of Mongolia<\/em>, with Delphine Seyrig (1989) and in the theater where she plays in particular in Le <em>Dibbouk<\/em>, directed by Bernard Djaoui in 1990, or in the review <em>Mortadela<\/em> by Alfredo Arias (Moli\u00e8re for the best musical show, 1992)<\/p>\n<p>However, Jacinta does not forget her origins. She regularly sings in Yiddish, Judeo-Spanish and Spanish but does not hesitate to explore French songs and perform her own compositions <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_92977_1('footnote_plugin_reference_92977_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_92977_1('footnote_plugin_reference_92977_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_92977_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[2]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_92977_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Jacinta has notably set to music two poems by one of her choristers, a friend, Catherine Franck, who died in 2022: <em>Les ateliers de couture<\/em> and <em>Tissages d&#8217;Heun&#8217;chy<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_92977_1_2').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_92977_1_2', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], });<\/script> Between 1986 and 1999, she records two albums of Yiddish songs (<em>Dos Lid fun goldenem Land<\/em>, cassette, 1986; <em>Autres chansons yiddish<\/em>, Ocora Radio-France, Cassette and CD, 1992) and a CD of Judeo-Spanish songs (<em>Morenica<\/em>, Chant du Monde, distribution Harmonia Mundi, 1999). In 2016, the producer Patrick Campistron publishes the CD <em>Ofrecer mi coraz\u00f3n<\/em>, label Soupir. Jacinta performs titles like &#8220;Youkali&#8221;, &#8220;Poup\u00e9e de Cire&#8221;, South American songs, such as &#8220;Te recuerdo Amanda&#8221;, &#8220;Amapola&#8221; and one of her compositions &#8220;Sos la noche&#8221; with the accordionist David Venitucci.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_92671\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-92671\" style=\"width: 474px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-92671\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/K7_1167_VIG2_La-Chanson-du-Pays-dOr_Cassette-audio-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/K7_1167_VIG2_La-Chanson-du-Pays-dOr_Cassette-audio-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/K7_1167_VIG2_La-Chanson-du-Pays-dOr_Cassette-audio.jpg 598w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-92671\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Audio tape &#8211; La Chanson du Pays d&#8217;Or (The Golden Country Song)<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Eager to pass on her passion for singing, Jacinta has been directing the <a href=\"http:\/\/jacintazingers.blogspot.com\/\">Jacintas Zingers<\/a> choir since 2001, first with the Association for the Study and Dissemination of Yiddish Culture (AEDCY) and the Maison de la Culture Yiddish (MCY), then at the Cercle Bernard Lazare, and from 2021 at the Medem Center. Her choir members, of all ages, admire her qualities as a teacher and musician-arranger. But beyond this purely musical aspect, she notices that:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the elders, Yiddish (Judeo-Spanish for some as well) was the language of a hidden childhood, that of deported parents. And I found myself among these mortified souls singing this forbidden Yiddish to them, making them feel that it was more than a language, but a flavor, a way of life, a joy among so many sorrows&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Another chorister, whose parents were both taken, told me that she had tried to sing in Yiddish, in vain.
