{"id":1254,"date":"2018-05-29T17:21:14","date_gmt":"2018-05-29T15:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/produit\/kif-orchestra\/"},"modified":"2024-11-25T10:39:38","modified_gmt":"2024-11-25T09:39:38","slug":"kif-orkestra","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/en\/product\/kif-orkestra\/","title":{"rendered":"KIF Orkestra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Created in January 2005 on the initiative of the MJC of Ris Orangis, the Centre des Musiques et Danses Traditionnelles in \u00cele-de-France, in collaboration with the ARIAM \u00cele-de-France and the ADIAM 91, the Klezmer Brass band of \u00cele-de-France is born from a dream of a fervent craftsman of the klezmer renaissance in France: the pianist\u00a0<strong><a class=\"spip_out\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/en\/onlinecontent\/biographies\/denis-cuniot-1953.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Denis Cuniot<\/a><\/strong>. It is he who initially led the brass band, with the trumpet player\u00a0<strong>Yann Martin<\/strong>, member of the klezmer jazz band Klezmer Nova. During 6 years, they made the brass band grow bigger, in the spirit of klezmer music, inviting the public and the musicians to the dance.<\/p>\n<p>Then in 2010 arrives\u00a0<strong>Pierre Wekstein<\/strong>, composer, arranger, saxophonist and musical director of\u00a0<a class=\"spip_out\" href=\"http:\/\/cargocollective.com\/klezmernova\/LE-GROUPE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Klezmer Nova<\/a>, who takes the direction of the brass band. For 4 years, Pierre Wekstein brings his musical expertise, his compositions and arrangements to the brass band.<\/p>\n<p>Finally in 2014, the Yiddish cowboy\u00a0<strong><a class=\"spip_out\" href=\"http:\/\/www.yom.fr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yom<\/a><\/strong>, the virtuoso clarinettist famous for his great klezmer playing and free improvisations, becomes the successor. Assisted by the trombone player\u00a0<strong>Benoit Giffard<\/strong>, he brings the band to become freer, more autonomous, and to dream more.<\/p>\n<p>And this is how, thanks to Denis, Yann, Pierre, Yom and Benoit, the brass band, enlightened, shaken, is driven to roll by itself.
