Desde la creaci\u00f3n de mi espect\u00e1culo Padam Padam sobre la vida y la obra de <strong>Norbert Glanzberg<\/strong>, me fascina la vida de estos hombres, etiquetados por Goebbels como \u00abartistas jud\u00edos degenerados\u00bb, que fueron expulsados de Alemania y Austria, se refugiaron en Francia o Estados Unidos y que, a pesar de la guerra y de la barbarie nazi que les oblig\u00f3 a exiliarse, encontraron la fuerza para seguir creando&#8230; Norbert Glanzberg es representativo de una generaci\u00f3n de compositores muy prometedores que se vieron obligados a exiliarse por los tormentos de la historia y, algunos de ellos, a buscar nuevas formas de expresi\u00f3n para sobrevivir. Pienso en particular en <strong>Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Kurt Weill, Werner Richard Heymann, Friedrich Hollaender<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Max Steiner<\/strong> es un compositor con una trayectoria diferente, que Jeff y yo quer\u00edamos incluir en este programa. Nacido en Viena, creci\u00f3 en el ambiente embriagador de esa ciudad justo antes de su declive, y emigr\u00f3 a los Estados Unidos en 1914, donde trabaj\u00f3 en Broadway antes de dirigirse a Hollywood, donde compuso las bandas sonoras de las pel\u00edculas <em>King Kong<\/em>,<em> Ars\u00e9nico y encaje viejo<\/em>, <em>Lo que el viento se llev\u00f3<\/em> y <em>Casablanca<\/em>. En cierto modo, allan\u00f3 el camino a todos estos compositores exiliados. Por \u00faltimo, hemos incluido la canci\u00f3n emblem\u00e1tica de Casablanca, \u00abAs Time Goes By\u00bb, escrita por el estadounidense <strong>Herman Hupfeld<\/strong>, cuya letra es una especie de himno a la continuidad a pesar de todo!<\/p>\n<p>Seguir los pasos de estos compositores e interpretar sus canciones es escuchar, en los vientos tumultuosos de la historia, las voces de estos hombres que, a pesar de los miedos y las angustias, en medio del ruido de las botas, supieron escuchar los impulsos de sus vibrantes corazones para crear melod\u00edas y canciones, \u00a1pulgares traviesos o po\u00e9ticos a la estupidez y la intolerancia! Korngold dec\u00eda: \u00abDividido entre la \u00f3pera y la m\u00fasica de cine, a veces jugaba a ser serio, a veces escrib\u00eda canciones en serio\u00bb. Teniendo esto en cuenta, Jeff Cohen y yo nos hemos preocupado de reunir un \u00e1lbum que abarca desde la m\u00fasica cl\u00e1sica hasta el cine y el cabaret.
