Aprende composici\u00f3n con Zeller y tiene como condisc\u00edpulo a Carl-Maria von Weber. Cuando va a Italia para perfeccionarse, italianiza su nombre de pila y obtiene su primer \u00e9xito en La Fenice de Venecia en 1824 con <em>Il Crociato in Egitto<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez instalado en Par\u00eds, crea <em>Robert le Diable<\/em> (1824), que, tras Fernand Cortez (1774-1851) de Spontini, sienta las bases de la Gran \u00d3pera francesa, de la que el compositor ser\u00e1 el mejor embajador en todo el mundo. El \u00e9xito se confirma cuatro a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde con el mismo libretista, Eug\u00e8ne Scribe, en <em>Les Huguenots<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Nombrado director musical de la corte prusiana en Berl\u00edn, Meyerbeer nunca es reconocido por sus colegas alemanes. Vuelto para presentar <em>Le Proph\u00e8te<\/em> (1849), muere en Par\u00eds antes del estreno de su \u00faltima \u00f3pera, <em>L&#8217;Africaine<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La autora<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Violaine Anger es profesora en la Universidad de Evry Val-d&#8217;Essonne y profesora asociada en la Escuela Polit\u00e9cnica. Ha sido profesora de historia de la m\u00fasica en el Conservatorio Nacional Superior de M\u00fasica (CNSM) de Par\u00eds.<br \/>\nSus investigaciones se centran en la relaci\u00f3n entre el lenguaje, la lengua y la m\u00fasica. Es autora de Sens de la musique (Presses de la rue d&#8217;Ulm, Par\u00eds, 2006), as\u00ed como de numerosos art\u00edculos.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bne.fr\/page169.html\" target=\"_blank\"
