Entre ellos hab\u00eda un gran n\u00famero de jud\u00edos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La princesa Edmond de Polignac (1865-1942), nacida Winaretta Singer, hija de Isaac Singer, inventor de la m\u00e1quina de coser perfeccionada, abri\u00f3 en 1887 un sal\u00f3n que atrajo a numerosos compositores y m\u00fasicos. Casada por segunda vez con el pr\u00edncipe Edmond de Polignac, a partir del invierno de 1893-1894 organiz\u00f3 en su hotel de la avenida Henri-Martin reuniones musicales que cautivaron a una gran cantidad de escritores y m\u00fasicos**., entre ellos Marcel Proust, Jean Cocteau, Colette, Diaghilev, Manuel de Falla, Chabrier, d&#8217;Indy, Faur\u00e9, Nadia Boulanger, Arthur Rubinstein, Wladimir Horowitz y Clara Haskil. Pintora y m\u00fasica empedernida, la Princesa de Polignac se benefici\u00f3 de los consejos ilustrados de Gabriel Astruc, Serge de Diaghilev y Nadia Boulanger. Escribi\u00f3 una veintena de obras vocales, instrumentales y orquestales. Mecenas extremadamente generoso, fue uno de los principales accionistas del Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es, junto con el bar\u00f3n Henri de Rothschild, los hermanos Rothschild, \u00c9mile y Fernand Halphen, Madame Louis Stern, los Cahen d&#8217;Anvers, Henry Deutsch de la Meurthe, Albert Kahn, Willy Blumenthal, Paul Fould y Louis Barthou.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_114502\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-114502\" style=\"width: 175px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-114502\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Henry_Deutsch_de_la_Meurthe_1912-228x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Henry_Deutsch_de_la_Meurthe_1912-228x300.jpg 228w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Henry_Deutsch_de_la_Meurthe_1912.jpg 304w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 175px) 100vw, 175px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-114502\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Henry Deutsch de la Meurthe<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Al igual que Isaac de Camondo, el industrial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/henry-deutsch-de-la-meurthe-1846-1919\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Henry Deutsch de la Meurthe (1846-1919)<\/a> era conocido por su filantrop\u00eda y su gusto por la m\u00fasica. Considerado uno de los mayores accionistas de la \u00d3pera, para la que compuso <em>Icare<\/em>, epopeya l\u00edrica en tres cuadros de Henri Cain, orquestada por <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/camille-erlanger-1863-1919\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Camille Erlanger<\/a>, fue tambi\u00e9n autor de numerosas melod\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>Las recepciones organizadas por personalidades del mundo de las finanzas, especialmente en los salones de la burgues\u00eda jud\u00eda, no ten\u00edan nada que envidiar a las de la nobleza. Por ejemplo, Maurice Ephrussi (1849-1916) y su esposa, de soltera Rothschild, ofrec\u00edan reuniones en su hotel del 19 de la avenue du Bois-de-Boulogne. Encargaron a Gabriel Astruc la composici\u00f3n del programa y la contrataci\u00f3n de artistas. El hermano mayor de Maurice, Michel Ephrussi, y su esposa regentaban un sal\u00f3n cerca de la \u00c9toile, en el n\u00famero 48 de la rue de la P\u00e9rouse. Madame Michel Ephrussi era una excelente pianista y le gustaba tocar en compa\u00f1\u00eda de artistas y compositores como Georges Enesco.<\/p>\n<p>La familia Stern era originaria de Fr\u00e1ncfort. Edgar Stern, casado con Marguerite Fould, organizaba recepciones en su hotel del n\u00famero 20 de la avenida Montaigne. Atra\u00eddo por la m\u00fasica, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/halphen-fernand-1872-1917\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fernand Halphen (1872-1917)<\/a>, emparentado por su madre con las familias Ephrussi, Stern y Rothschild, ingres\u00f3 en el Conservatorio de Par\u00eds a los trece a\u00f1os. Sus padres, Georges y Henriette Halphen, eran mecenas de las artes y se entreten\u00edan en su hotel parisino del n\u00famero 24 de la rue Chaptal y en su casa del monasterio de Ville-d&#8217;Avray. Fernand Halphen tambi\u00e9n dirig\u00eda un sal\u00f3n donde se representaban sus obras. Tras su tr\u00e1gica muerte durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, su viuda, de soltera <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/halphen-alice-1878-1963\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alice Koenigswarter<\/a>, sigui\u00f3 organizando conciertos en su sal\u00f3n parisino de la rue Dumont d&#8217;Urville y en La Chapelle-en-Serval. Para algunos -sobre todo mujeres, que compensan as\u00ed su frustraci\u00f3n por no poder actuar en escenarios p\u00fablicos- es la \u00fanica oportunidad de expresar su talento y ser escuchados por un p\u00fablico, a veces incluso junto a m\u00fasicos profesionales. Madame Maurice Sulzbach, de soltera Frincsel, ten\u00eda un prestigioso sal\u00f3n en el 52 bis de la avenida de I\u00e9na y en su castillo de Le Chesnay (Seine-et-Oise), visitado regularmente por Vincent d&#8217;Indy, Camille Erlanger y Ernest Chausson. Louise Cr\u00e9mieux (1863-1925), nieta de Adolphe Cr\u00e9mieux, era cantante aficionada y regentaba un sal\u00f3n en el que entreten\u00eda a Faur\u00e9, Roger-Ducasse y Ravel, quien le dedic\u00f3 <em>L&#8217;Heure espagnole<\/em> y <em>Le No\u00ebl des jouets<\/em>. Antes de convertirse en la esposa de Claude Debussy en 1904, Emma Bardac (1862-1934), de soltera Moyse, se cas\u00f3 en 1879 con Sigismond Bardac, banquero y coleccionista jud\u00edo de origen alem\u00e1n. La pareja se instal\u00f3 en Par\u00eds y abri\u00f3 un sal\u00f3n donde, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os del siglo XIX, Faur\u00e9 present\u00f3 a los mejores miembros de su clase de composici\u00f3n: Koechlin, Ducasse y Ravel.<\/p>\n<p>La tradici\u00f3n musical parece tan fuerte en la familia de Isabel Lang (1904-1988) como en la de Henry Gou\u00efn (1900-1977), que se cas\u00f3 en 1931 en la Abad\u00eda de Royaumont, propiedad de la familia Gou\u00efn. Aqu\u00ed acogieron a numerosos m\u00fasicos, int\u00e9rpretes y compositores, entre ellos Albert Roussel, Darius y Madeleine Milhaud, Roland Manuel, Jacques Ibert, Florent Schmitt, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/tansman-alexandre-1897-1986\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexandre Tansman<\/a>, Luigi Dallapiccola y Ernst Krenek. Precursor del mecenazgo empresarial, Henry Gou\u00efn habr\u00eda intentado, hacia 1937, convencer a los industriales para que ayudaran a los artistas. Sin embargo, el sistema fiscal no estaba adaptado en aquella \u00e9poca y su proyecto nunca lleg\u00f3 a realizarse. Cincuenta a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, esta medida fue introducida por el Ministerio de Cultura franc\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 habr\u00eda sido de la vida musical de principios del siglo XX sin la contribuci\u00f3n de los mecenas y de los salones musicales?
