Es espec\u00edficamente el autor de centenas de valses, cuya la famosa \u00a0<em>Valse des patineurs<\/em>\u00a0(<em>Vals de los patinadores<\/em>) que toda Europa silbaba&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>La Valse des patineurs<\/em>\u00a0 (<em>Vals de los patinadores<\/em>) es una de valses m\u00e1s famosas del mundo. Muchos atribuyen su melod\u00eda a Johan Strauss. \u00a1Equivocadamente!\u00a0<em>La Valse des patineurs<\/em>\u00a0(<em>Vals de los patinadores<\/em>) ha sido compuesta por Emile Waldteufel, m\u00fasico franc\u00e9s originario de una familia jud\u00eda, nacido en Estrasburgo en 1837. Su abuela, Moyse L\u00e9vy, era m\u00fasico ambulante en Bischheim (Alsacia). En virtud del decreto napole\u00f3nico del 28 de julio de 1808 que impuso en todos los jud\u00edos del imperio tomar un \u00abnombre definitivo\u00bb, de manera facilitar el censo y la gesti\u00f3n de ellos, Moyse l\u00e9vy eligi\u00f3 el seud\u00f3nimo de Waldteufel.<\/p>\n<p>Un de sus hijos,\u00a0 Lazare L\u00e9vy alias Louis Waldteufel (1801-1884), violinista y director de orquesta, tuvo cuatro hijos: Achille (1830-\u00a0?), Isaac (1832-1884), alias L\u00e9on, director de orquesta de los bailes de la corte y de la presidencia, Salomon alias Achille (1830-\u00a0?), Isaac (1832-1884), alias L\u00e9on y Charles \u00c9mile (1837-1915), alias \u00c9mile, quien fue el compositor m\u00e1s conocido y m\u00e1s prol\u00edfico de la familia.<\/p>\n<p>En 1844, su familia lleg\u00f3 en Par\u00eds para que L\u00e9on pueda aprender tocar el viol\u00edn al Conservatorio. A su turno, de 1853 \u00e0 1857, \u00c9mile fue matriculado ah\u00ed para estudiar el piano; Jules Massenet y Georges Bizet est\u00e1n su compa\u00f1eros de clase. Waldteufel, como muchos otros pianistas de su \u00e9poca, compon\u00eda sus obras, pero en la perspectiva de orquestaciones ulteriores en funci\u00f3n de las condiciones de representaci\u00f3n (salones privados, salones de baile, o bailes al aire libre).<\/p>\n<p>Durante el Segundo Imperio Franc\u00e9s, Waldteufel escrib\u00ed numerosos bailes que le dieron a conocer. En 1865, particularmente apreciado por Eug\u00e9nie, se volv\u00ed director de la m\u00fasica de baile de la corte imperial de Napol\u00e9on III y pianista nombrado de la emperatriz. Esta cargado de animar las famosas recepciones bailante de Biarritz y de Compi\u00e8gne. A partir de 1867, el orquesta de Waldteufel ha acompa\u00f1ado los bailes en las Tuller\u00edas, tomando as\u00ed la continuaci\u00f3n de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/strauss-isaac-1806-1888\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isaac Strauss<\/a>, pues los del El\u00edseo, despu\u00e9s de la guerra franco-prusiana.<\/p>\n<p>En 1874, fue distinguido por el Pr\u00edncipe de Gales, el futuro Eduardo VII que le propuso volverle conocer en Gran Breta\u00f1a. Convella un contrato con la sociedad de la edici\u00f3n londonesa Hopwood &amp; Crew que le permite tocar durante los bailes de la Reina Victoria al Palacio de Buckingham. Su m\u00fasica domina los programas durante diversas a\u00f1os.\u00a0<em>La Valse des patineurs<\/em>\u00a0[<em>Vals de los patinadores<\/em>] (1882) le da un renombre internacional, y en adelante fue tocado en Londres, en Berl\u00edn, y en Par\u00eds con \u00e9xito hasta el inicio del siglo XX.<\/p>\n<p>La m\u00fasica de Waldteufel esta caracterizada por un sentido mel\u00f3dico en la tradici\u00f3n de compositores de melod\u00edas franceses de su \u00e9poca como Gounod, Saint-Sa\u00ebns ou Bizet. Su inspiraci\u00f3n se extiende \u00f3peras c\u00f3micas de Audran, Lacome o <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/offenbach-jacques-1819-1880\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Offenbach<\/a>\u00a0hasta la m\u00fasica popular b\u00e1varo (qu\u00e9 conoce por su madre) o el folclore de la boh\u00eame.
