Construido sobre un ritmo binario (2\/4 o 4\/4) y sincopado, se asemeja m\u00e1s al bulgar, una danza animada en c\u00edrculo, en l\u00ednea o en pareja, sobre un ritmo cercano al freylekh, que apareci\u00f3 entre los jud\u00edos de Ruman\u00eda y del sur de Ucrania a finales del siglo XIX y que se export\u00f3 a Estados Unidos, donde se hizo extremadamente popular en los a\u00f1os 1920-1930. Se dice que la hora fue llevada a Palestina por los jud\u00edos de Ruman\u00eda durante la segunda Ali\u00e1 (1904-1914). Como tal, la hora es un s\u00edmbolo de renovaci\u00f3n nacional y de construcci\u00f3n colectiva de una identidad israel\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>Los pioneros israel\u00edes (halutzim) \u00abbailaban la hora durante los momentos m\u00e1s duros, despu\u00e9s de las batallas, despu\u00e9s de ser atacados, despu\u00e9s de escalar altas monta\u00f1as\u00bb, dice Dan Ronen, especialista del teatro.\u00a0Se pod\u00eda venir de cualquier pa\u00eds de la Di\u00e1spora y unirte al esp\u00edritu de la sociedad israel\u00ed bailando la hora. Estaba reconocida como una forma de expresar el entusiasmo de construir el pa\u00eds juntos. La hora era una manera de celebrar esta alegr\u00eda de bailar juntos en nuestra nueva patria (R.
