La danza se populariz\u00f3 por primera vez en los a\u00f1os 1780 en Viena y luego se extendi\u00f3 por todo Occidente.<\/p>\n<p>Es un baile cuya m\u00fasica suele estar escrita en \u00be de tiempo, con un primer tiempo fuerte seguido de dos tiempos d\u00e9biles, sobre los que la pareja que se abraza se mueve por la pista de baile girando sobre s\u00ed misma.<\/p>\n<p>En Francia, la Revoluci\u00f3n de 1789 asegur\u00f3 el declive de los bailes de corte y la pr\u00e1ctica com\u00fan del vals. El uso por primera vez del parquet y de los zapatos de cuero permiti\u00f3 pasar del paso saltado al paso deslizado.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de 1840, los bailes de sal\u00f3n se separaron claramente de los de ballet y empezaron a ser ense\u00f1ados por maestros de bailes de sal\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h3>El vals: un g\u00e9nero musical favorecido por los compositores jud\u00edos<\/h3>\n<p>Durante el Segundo Imperio Franc\u00e9s, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/waldteufel-emile-1837-1915\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emile Waldteufel<\/a> escrib\u00ed numerosos bailes (valses, mazurcas&#8230;) que le dieron a conocer. En 1865, particularmente apreciado por Eug\u00e9nie, se volv\u00ed director de la m\u00fasica de baile de la corte imperial de Napol\u00e9on III y pianista nombrado de la emperatriz. Esta cargado de animar las famosas recepciones bailante de Biarritz y de Compi\u00e8gne. A partir de 1867, el orquesta de Waldteufel ha acompa\u00f1ado los bailes en las Tuller\u00edas, tomando as\u00ed la continuaci\u00f3n de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/strauss-isaac-1806-1888\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isaac Strauss<\/a>, que Berlioz llamaba \u00abel Strauss de Paris\u00bb en sus memorias.<br \/>En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, muchos compositores &#8211; como Johan Strauss hijo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/offenbach-jacques-1819-1880\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacques Offenbach<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/es\/hahn-reynaldo-1874-1947\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reynaldo Hahn<\/a> &#8211;
