Composition contest of music in the jewish tradition

Organized by the Union of Jewish Italian Communities (UCEI)

Subscriptions are open until November 5th 2017 included! This first edition, reserved for European and Israeli composers will take place on December 11th and 12th 2017 in Parma, Italy.

In the frame of a project dedicated to the musical area and cultural activities, the UCEI - Union of Jewish Italian Communities - is promoting a Composition Contest of Music in Jewish Tradition. The aim of this contest is to promote the composition of new musical pieces (chamber music or choral music) inspired by Jewish tradition. The goal is to enriching this specific area, so deeply important in the various areas of Jewish cultural and religious life.
The contest will be a significant comparison opportunity and meeting between participants, united by the specificity of the proposed theme and the universality of musical language.

This first edition will be dedicated to the city of Yerushalaim, Jerusalem, in concomitance with the 50th anniversary of its reunification, and it will take place on the 11th and 12th of december 2017 at the Casa della Musica in Parma, Italy.

This contest is open for all European and Israeli composers, without any age restriction. The musical work must be original (neither edited nor performed in public). Its duration must last between 8 and 12 minutes.
