Questa Cordoba \u00e8 ormai scomparsa da nove o dieci secoli. Cosa significa per noi all&#8217;inizio del XXI secolo?<\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 la questione che si pongono Sandra Bessis e Rachid Brahim-Djelloul in questa nuova registrazione dedicata alla musica degli esuli di Spagna.<\/p>\n<p>Se i canti giudeo-spagnoli sono il punto di partenza, sono accompagnati da brani arabo-andalusi o giudeo-arabi, improvvisazioni e temi strumentali orientali. Musica del Mediterraneo, un omaggio alle citt\u00e0 emblema della convivenza tra comunit\u00e0 affini, passeggiate immaginarie da Cordova e Granada a Salonicco ed Istanbul, Tetouan e Costantina. Una celebrazione a modo nostro del matrimonio tra Oriente ed Occidente, tra divino e profano, tra tradizione popolare e colta, tra allora, oggi e sempre&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Sei ballate evocative &#8211; da Granada a Cordoba, passando per i Balcani, Salonicco, Istanbul e persino Tunisi, Algeri e Parigi &#8211; intrecciano il tessuto di questo album, portato dalla voce di Sandra Bessis, rinomata interprete del repertorio sefardita da quasi venticinque anni, e da quella di Rachid Brahim-Djelloul, ben addentro alle sottigliezze strumentali e vocali della tradizione arabo-andalusa.<\/p>\n<p>A volte in alternanza, a volte in concerto, le loro voci percorrono i sentieri che costeggiano il Mediterraneo. Insieme al fisarmonicista Jasko Ramic, dalla duplice cultura musicale &#8211; classica, essendosi formato al Conservatorio di Mosca, e tradizionale, affondando le radici nella tradizione gitana della Serbia &#8211; all&#8217;oudista Noureddine Aliane ed al percussionista Yousef Zayed, rivisitano il repertorio, fuori da ogni fantasia di ricostituzione. La scelta dei brani, il modo in cui sono combinati tra loro, siano essi vecchi di secoli o composizioni recenti, il modo in cui incrociano le melodie tradizionali con la poesia araba del Medioevo, gli arrangiamenti e la strumentazione, tutto riflette lo spirito del tempo.
