Astruc era figlio del rabbino progressista Aristide Astruc, che aveva provveduto alla sua educazione religiosa. D. de la M. sovvenzion\u00f2 la rappresentazione di <em>Salom\u00e9<\/em> di Richard Strauss nel 1907 (5.000 F), la stagione russa del 1909 (10.000 F) e quella italiana del 1910 (12.500 F), ma soprattutto fu uno dei principali azionisti del Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-Elys\u00e9es (50.000 F per 100 azioni), che Astruc inaugur\u00f2 nel 1913.<\/p>\r\n<p>Fu anche un generoso donatore dell&#8217;Association des artistes et amis de l&#8217;Op\u00e9ra (Associazione degli artisti e degli amici dell&#8217;Opera), che forniva una pensione agli artisti, e ne divenne il presidente, subentrando al fondatore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/it\/camondo-isaac-de-1850-1911\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isaac de Camondo<\/a>, alla morte di quest&#8217;ultimo nel 1911.<\/p>\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_121790\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-121790\" style=\"width: 232px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-121790\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Aschrei-kol-Yerei-de-H-Deutsch_VC-P_3201_0016-232x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Aschrei-kol-Yerei-de-H-Deutsch_VC-P_3201_0016-232x300.jpg 232w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Aschrei-kol-Yerei-de-H-Deutsch_VC-P_3201_0016.jpg 463w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 232px) 100vw, 232px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-121790\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Aschre\u00ef kol Yere\u00ef de H. Deutsch<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n<p>Grande appassionato di musica e membro eletto del Consistoire central isra\u00e9lite de France, si dedic\u00f2 anche alla composizione. Scrisse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/it\/fonds-des-archives-musicales-de-la-grande-synagogue-de-la-victoire-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arrangiamenti di preghiere per il nuovo servizio di culto concistoriale in uso presso la Grande Sinagoga de la Victoire<\/a> e a partire dal 1900, pubblic\u00f2 melodie (<em>Douze m\u00e9lodies<\/em>, edite da Grus intorno al 1909), per lo pi\u00f9 basate su poesie di Camille de Morlhon &#8211; un appassionato di automobili che divenne suo segretario. Compose anche pezzi per pianoforte, oltre ad\u00a0<em>Icare, \u00e9pop\u00e9e lyrique en 3 tableaux<\/em>, basata su un poema di Henri Cain, orchestrata da <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/it\/camille-erlanger-1863-1919\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Camille Erlanger<\/a>. Si tratta della prima opera teatrale conosciuta ispirata all&#8217;aviazione, essendo Icare anche il nome che Henry D. diede a un aerobus d&#8217;acqua. L&#8217;opera fu rappresentata all&#8217;Op\u00e9ra di Parigi il 19 dicembre 1911, durante una serata di beneficenza organizzata da Astruc a favore dell&#8217;Aeroclub de France. In <em>Santos-valse<\/em> (1901) rese omaggio al pilota brasiliano Alberto Santos-Dumont, che aveva appena vinto il premio istituito da D. de la M. riuscendo a coprire il tragitto di andata e ritorno tra Saint-Cloud e la Torre Eiffel in meno di 30 minuti in dirigibile; in <em>En dirigeable. Souvenir du \u2018Ville-de-Paris\u2019 1907-1908<\/em>, ricorda il proprio dirigibile, il \u201cVille-de-Paris\u201d, donato ai militari nel 1907 dopo la perdita del loro dirigibile, il \u201cPatrie\u201d.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>I brani per pianoforte En automobile (1901), che descrive le avventure di un viaggio e di cui esiste una versione orchestrata da Camille Erlanger, ed En m\u00e9tro (1902), testimoniano il suo interesse per i mezzi di trasporto pi\u00f9 moderni, visto che la prima linea della metropolitana parigina era stata inaugurata all&#8217;Esposizione Universale del 1900 e la seconda iniziata nel 1902.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-121760 size-medium alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/En-automobile-de-HDDLM-279x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"279\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/En-automobile-de-HDDLM-279x300.jpg 279w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/En-automobile-de-HDDLM.jpg 465w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 279px) 100vw, 279px\" \/>In questi brani, D. de la M. si sforza di descrivere in musica i dettagli tecnici, come,\u00a0\u201cpartire\u201d o \u201caccendere il motore\u201d, \u2018rallentare\u2019, \u201ccambiare direzione\u201d, \u201cfermarsi\u201d\u2026 secondo le indicazioni scritte sullo spartito, che evocano le didascalie dei film muti dell&#8217;epoca e preannunciano i testi umoristici che punteggeranno alcuni brani pianistici di Erik Satie. Per quanto riguarda la musica, essa evoca quella che accompagnava il nascente cinema muto, e lo scenario di <em>En automobile<\/em> pu\u00f2 essere paragonato al film <em>Accident d&#8217;automobile<\/em> dei fratelli Lumi\u00e8re, uscito nel 1905.
