Tra loro, numerosi compositori &#8211; come gli austriaci Max Steiner (1888-1971) ed Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957), il tedesco Franz Waxman (1908-1967), l\u2019ungherese Mikl\u00f3s R\u00f3zsa (1907-1995), il polacco Bronis\u0142av Kaper, il russo Irving Berlin o l\u2019ucraino Dimitri Tiomkin (1894-1979) &#8211; si stabiliscono sulla costa occidentale e contribuiscono all\u2019affermazione del cinema hollywoodiano apportando il loro savoir-faire derivato dalla musica post-romantica europea, che mescolano alla cultura americana ed al jazz per creare una nuova musica che diventer\u00e0 emblematica dei pi\u00f9 grandi film hollywoodiani (<em>The Jazz Singer<\/em> (1927), <em>The Prince and the Pauper<\/em> (1937), <em>Gone With The Wind<\/em> (1939), <em>Jungle Book<\/em> (1942), <em>Summer Place<\/em> (1959), <em>Ben-Hur<\/em> (1959), etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il CD <em>Exile to Hollywood<\/em>, interpretato dalla violinista <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/it\/isabelle-durin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Isabelle Durin<\/a> e dal pianista Michael Ertzscheid, celebra una musica all\u2019insegna della libert\u00e0, della fusione culturale e della resilienza. Un viaggio emozionante nel cuore della Golden Age (anni 1930-1960), dove l\u2019esilio diventa fonte di creativit\u00e0 e splendore.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"582\" height=\"594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Photo-isabelle-durin-cd-musique-et-cinema-homepage.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-133308\" style=\"width:206px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Photo-isabelle-durin-cd-musique-et-cinema-homepage.jpg 582w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Photo-isabelle-durin-cd-musique-et-cinema-homepage-294x300.jpg 294w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 582px) 100vw, 582px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Herv\u00e9 Roten ha intervistato Isabelle Durin in occasione dell&#8217;uscita di questa nuova registrazione.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HR&nbsp;: Isabelle Durin, come le \u00e8 venuta l\u2019idea di realizzare questo disco dedicato ai compositori ebrei del <em>Golden Age<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ID&nbsp;: Nei nostri due album precedenti (M\u00e9moire et Cin\u00e9ma e Un violon dans l\u2019Histoire), Micha\u00ebl Ertzscheid ed io avevamo esplorato l&#8217;universo delle tradizioni ebraiche e le diverse rappresentazioni della Seconda guerra mondiale nel cinema attraverso le sue musiche pi\u00f9 emblematiche. Si d\u00e0 il caso che, per una proposta di concerto sul tema del jazz al cinema, avessi elaborato un programma dedicato a Bernstein, Mancini, Legrand ed Hurwitz, concentrandomi anche su due brani particolarmente adatti al violino, <em>Blue Skies<\/em> e <em>The Valley of the Dolls<\/em>, composti rispettivamente da Irving Berlin e Andre Previn. Dopo alcune ricerche sulla loro storia personale, mi sono resa conto che avevano un passato in comune, quello di aver lasciato i rispettivi paesi \u2013 l\u2019Impero russo per Irving Berlin e la Germania per Andre Previn \u2013 a causa delle persecuzioni contro gli ebrei. Da l\u00ec, ho iniziato a cercare quali fossero i compositori di quel periodo (gli anni &#8217;20-&#8217;30) che avevano lasciato l&#8217;Europa per rifugiarsi ad Hollywood. Tra Irving Berlin, che segna l&#8217;inizio di questa et\u00e0 dell&#8217;oro, e Andre Previn, che in un certo senso la conclude, ho scoperto o riscoperto altri compositori, come Max Steiner, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Franz Waxman, Miklos Rozsa, Dimitri Tiomkin\u2026 Ho ascoltato le loro colonne sonore, una pi\u00f9 sublime dell\u2019altra; mi sono immersa in quell\u2019universo in cui la melodia la fa da padrona ed ho immaginato tutti quei suoni risuonare al violino ed al pianoforte. Al termine di questo lungo lavoro di ricerca, ho selezionato 15 brani e ho iniziato ad elaborarne gli arrangiamenti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prima fase: carta e matita quando non riuscivamo a trovare lo spartito orchestrale! Ore e ore, con le cuffie ben salde sulle orecchie, a trascrivere le diverse parti e riarrangiarle per violino e pianoforte! Una volta terminata la trascrizione della parte per violino, la inviavo a Micha\u00ebl affinch\u00e9 scrivesse o arrangiasse la sua parte. A volte abbiamo trovato su Internet degli spartiti online, o delle riduzioni per pianoforte, che ci hanno aiutato in questo delicato lavoro in cui si tratta pi\u00f9 di trascrizione che di arrangiamento, poich\u00e9 il nostro obiettivo era quello di conservare l&#8217;integrit\u00e0 dello spartito originale, nota per nota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c8 stato un lavoro impegnativo, ma che ci ha permesso immergerci completamente nello stile, nelle modalit\u00e0 di esecuzione, nelle sfumature e nelle frasi musicali di queste colonne sonore, che sono davvero
