Il suo obiettivo era quello di preservare, ma anche di diffondere le tradizioni musicali giudeo-spagnole del Nord Marocco interpretando le romanze (ballate narrative) ed altre canzoni dei discendenti degli ebrei espulsi dalla Spagna nel 1492. Va notato che ha recentemente trasmesso alla Biblioteca Nazionale di Israele le registrazioni ed i testi esplicativi di centinaia di canzoni sefardite in giudeo-spagnolo che ha raccolto dall&#8217;inizio degli anni &#8217;80 nelle comunit\u00e0 sefardite marocchine stabilite ai quattro angoli del mondo<\/p>\n<p><em><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-28313\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/couv_de_fiestas_y_alegrias_redim_240_px_vertic.jpg\" alt=\"couv_de_fiestas_y_alegrias_redim_240_px_vertic.jpg\" width=\"238\" height=\"240\" align=\"right\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/couv_de_fiestas_y_alegrias_redim_240_px_vertic.jpg 238w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/couv_de_fiestas_y_alegrias_redim_240_px_vertic-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/couv_de_fiestas_y_alegrias_redim_240_px_vertic-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 238px) 100vw, 238px\" \/>Gerineldo \u00e8 in origine il nome di una romanza popolare sefardita marocchina di epoca medioevale che racconta l&#8217;insolito itinerario di un giovane innamorato coccolato dalla vita.<br \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sostenuto da <strong>Oro Anahory-Librowicz<\/strong>, e dal suo fedele compagno fin dall&#8217;inizio <strong>Solly L\u00e9vy<\/strong>, al gruppo si uniranno poi <strong>Judith Cohen<\/strong>, Ashkenazita monregalese, dottoressa in etnomusicologia dell&#8217;Universit\u00e0 di Montreal, grande specialista della musica tradizionale giudeo-spagnola orientale e marocchina, attualmente professoressa alla York University di Toronto, e <strong>Kelly Amar<\/strong>, una delle migliori soliste della Corale Kinor del Centro Communitario Ebraico di Montreal.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft  wp-image-28315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/couv_el_medio_de_quel_camino_redim_240_px_vertic.jpg\" alt=\"couv_el_medio_de_quel_camino_redim_240_px_vertic.jpg\" width=\"220\" height=\"224\" align=\"left\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dal 1981 al 1994 il gruppo <em>Gerineldo<\/em> ha tenuto numerosi recital a Montreal, nell&#8217;ambito della <em>Quinzaine S\u00e9pharade<\/em>, in altre citt\u00e0 del Canada oltre che in Israele, Spagna, Stati Uniti, Venezuela&#8230; Musicals che hanno riscosso molto successo.<\/p>\n<p>Nel 1994, in solidariet\u00e0 con Kelly Amar che aveva appena perso il marito e non aveva pi\u00f9 coraggio di cantare sul palcoscenico, <em>Gerineldo<\/em> smette improvvisamente di esibirsi e tutti i componenti decidono di porre fine alle attivit\u00e0 artistiche del gruppo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-28317\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/couv_me_vaya_kappara_redim_240_px_vertic.jpg\" alt=\"couv_me_vaya_kappara_redim_240_px_vertic.jpg\" width=\"234\" height=\"240\" align=\"right\" \/>Dopo 20 anni di eclissi, nella primavera del 2014<em>, Gerineldo<\/em> fa un ritorno molto rimarcato con un primo spettacolo di re-incontro a Parigi nel marzo 2014, nell&#8217;ambito delle <em>Giornate dell&#8217;ebraismo marocchino<\/em>, sotto l&#8217;alto patrocinio di Sua Maest\u00e0 Mohammed VI, re del Marocco. Seguiranno altri spettacoli acclamati dal pubblico, organizzati dall&#8217;Associazione giudeo-spagnola <em>Aki Estamos<\/em> a Parigi, l&#8217;Alliance fran\u00e7aise di Toronto&#8230; Al gruppo si aggiungono allora le voci vibranti e luminose di due giovani cantanti di grande talento: <strong>Tamar Ilana<\/strong>, figlia di Judith Cohen e <strong>Matan Boker<\/strong>, 21 anni, nipote di Solly Levy che hanno dato nuova vita a questo ensemble musicale interamente dedito alla perpetuazione della meravigliosa eredit\u00e0 musicale giudeo-spagnola marocchina. Nel 2015, in occasione del <em>Festival S\u00e9farad di Montreal<\/em>, <strong>Demetrios Petsalakis<\/strong>, virtuoso dell&#8217;oud, si unisce a <em>Gerineldo<\/em> sul palcoscenico.<\/p>\n<p>Solly L\u00e9vy \u00e8 purtroppo morta il 10 aprile 2020 a seguito di una lunga malattia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/it\/levy-solly-1939-2020\/\"
