Trascorre tutta la sua infanzia nei quartieri popolari che conoscevano una forte attivit\u00e0 artistica, e fin da piccolo \u00e8 attratto dalla musica e dal canto, con una predilezione per il ritmo, le percussioni ed il gioco della darbouka.<\/p>\n<p>Quando il film egiziano <em>Rabha<\/em> viene proiettato a Tunisi, la canzone <em>Fadlak Ya Sayeg El Matar<\/em>, interpretata dal cantante egiziano <strong>Mohamed El Kahlaoui<\/strong>, riscuote un grande successo. Il giovane Elie, entusiasta, la impara e la canta in diverse occasioni. Questo incita degli amici a spingerlo a presentarsi alla radio tunisina. Elie interpreta integralmente <em>Fadlak Ya Sayeg El Matar<\/em> ed \u00e8 caldamente incoraggiato da Abdelaziz Laroui, presentatore del programma <em>Le Coin des Amateurs<\/em>, che gli suggerisce, da quel giorno, di portare il nome di &#8220;El Kahlaoui Tounsi&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: #171717;\"><em style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-74623  alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/K7_1706_COUV-e1639411327809-edited.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"172\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/K7_1706_COUV-e1639411327809-edited.jpg 211w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/K7_1706_COUV-e1639411327809-edited-181x300.jpg 181w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 172px) 100vw, 172px\" \/><\/span><\/em><\/span>El Kahlaoui Tounsi si lancia allora nella canzone e si esibisce con le note compagnie dell&#8217;epoca come quella di <strong>Kakino De Paz<\/strong>, <strong>Cheikh El Asram<\/strong> e molte altre. Conosce la notoriet\u00e0 e ottiene l\u2019adesione del pubblico. I suoi esordi nella canzone orientale, oltre alla canzone tunisina, gli permettono di costruire un vasto repertorio. Durante i suoi tours all&#8217;estero, mette in evidenza la canzone tradizionale e popolare tunisina.<\/p>\n<p>Alla fine del 1948 si reca a Parigi per lavorare come percussionista con le Peters Sisters alle Folies Berg\u00e8re, tentando cos\u00ec la sua prima avventura musicale in Francia. Nel 1949 torna in Tunisia dove compie un apprendistato in musica orientale, abbinata e trasformata con una nuova musica in voga in quel paese: il jazz. Per perfezionare la sua scienza del ritmo, percorre il Nord Africa dall&#8217;Algeria alla Libia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: #171717;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-74601  alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/D45-17_74_COUV-e1643715058324.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Tornato a Parigi alla fine del 1951, El Kahlaoui Tounsi \u00e8 assunto al cabaret El Djaza\u00efr, nel Quartiere Latino. Vi rimane due anni come cantante e percussionista. Partecipa a numerose registrazioni alla radio francese con diverse compagnie algerine, cabili, marocchine, tunisine e francesi. Registra anche una moltitudine di canzoni sotto diverse etichette: Path\u00e9 Marconi, Philips, Teppaz, Barclay e Dounia che acquister\u00e0 nel 1960.<\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 11.25pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: #171717;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nel 1953 entra alla Radio Diffusion Tunisienne come batterista-percussionista titolare nell&#8217;Orchestra Filarmonica. Continua i suoi viaggi in Giappone, Australia, Africa Nera, Algeria, Marocco ed in tutti i paesi europei, iniziando e diffondendo la canzone e l&#8217;arte tunisina, quella di &#8220;Aroubi&#8221; in particolare, una sorta di incantesimo pre-musicale che affonda le sue radici nella tradizione andalusa trasmessa nel corso dei secoli dai narratori sefarditi.<\/p>\n<p>El Kahlaoui Tounsi ha composto per molti artisti tunisini, marocchini, libanesi\u2026 Lavorer\u00e0 in particolare per l&#8217;emergenza di una giovane cantante algerina che diventer\u00e0 poi una star con il nome di Warda.<\/p>\n<p>Fondatore di una grande orchestra, Kahlaoui accoglie regolarmente la maggior parte delle star del mondo arabo che desiderano esibirsi in Francia: il libanese Wadieh El Safi, l&#8217;egiziano Ahmed Adaouia, il siriano Sabah Fahkri od il tunisino Ahmed Hamza.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: #171717;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-74576 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/D33-30_1027_COUV-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/D33-30_1027_COUV-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/D33-30_1027_COUV-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/D33-30_1027_COUV-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 213px) 100vw, 213px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Accompagna il suo amico Enrico Macias sul palco dell&#8217;Olympia e fa firmare per la sua casa discografica Dounia la maggior parte degli artisti ebrei ed arabi, tra cui Raoul Journo, Line Monty, Ren\u00e9 Perez, Reinette l&#8217;Oranaise, Blond Blond&#8230; od ancora il famoso Farid .El Atrache con il quale stringe una fortissima amicizia. Autore e compositore di successo (500 canzoni nel suo repertorio generale, 230 delle quali \u00e8 autore e 150 delle quali \u00e8 compositore e arrangiatore), El Kahlaoui Tounsi \u00e8 anche un uomo d&#8217;affari. Gi\u00e0 proprietario di un&#8217;etichetta e di una casa discografica, acquista una prima sala per spettacoli nel 1975, il Palais Berg\u00e8re, poi una seconda nel 1976, Le Bataclan.
