Nel 1993, mentre coordinavo le attivit\u00e0 dell&#8217;associazione Yuval per la conservazione delle tradizioni musicali ebraiche, sotto la direzione del musicologo Israel Adler, fui contattato dalla produttrice di France Culture Marie-Dominique Arrighi, che stava preparando una serie di programmi radiofonici intorno al tema dell&#8217;integrazione e dell&#8217;acquisizione della nazionalit\u00e0 francese<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_89880_1('footnote_plugin_reference_89880_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_89880_1('footnote_plugin_reference_89880_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_89880_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[1]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_89880_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Le quattro emissioni settimanali <em>Nuits magn\u00e9tiques <\/em>di Marie-Dominique Arrighi sul tema \u00ab Diventare francesi ? \u00bb sono state trasmesse su France Culture dal 20 aprile 1993<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_89880_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_89880_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], });<\/script>.<\/p>\n<p>Nel corso di un&#8217;intervista con il professor Ady Steg, Presidente dell&#8217;Alliance Isra\u00e9lite Universelle, quest&#8217;ultimo le aveva affermato che l&#8217;emancipazione degli ebrei dell&#8217;Europa orientale si era potuta realizzare grazie alla Rivoluzione francese ed alle conquiste napoleoniche. Gli ebrei ortodossi e hassidici, allora liberi di poter esprimere la loro fede fuori dai ghetti, avrebbero reso omaggio ai loro liberatori usando in particolare la musica della Marsigliese per cantare alcune delle loro preghiere.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_89855\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-89855\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-89855 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Rouget-des-Lisle-chantant-la-Marseillaise-pour-la-1ere-fois_peinture-dIsidore-Pils-1849-300x242.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Rouget-des-Lisle-chantant-la-Marseillaise-pour-la-1ere-fois_peinture-dIsidore-Pils-1849-300x242.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Rouget-des-Lisle-chantant-la-Marseillaise-pour-la-1ere-fois_peinture-dIsidore-Pils-1849.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-89855\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Rouget de Lisle cantando la Marseillaise per la prima volta (dipinto di Isidore Pils, 1849)<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Se \u00e8 vero che la musica hassidica include un certo numero di marce napoleoniche, non avevo mai incontrato fino a quel momento un&#8217;aria cos\u00ec emblematica come quella della Marsigliese. Dopo un&#8217;indagine condotta negli ambienti Lubavitch di Parigi, \u00e8 risultato che un <em>piyyut<\/em> del mattino di Shabbat, <em>Haaderet vehaemuna<\/em>, \u00e8 effettivamente cantato sulla prima parte della melodia della Marsigliese! Incuriosito da questo prestito poco \u00ab\u00a0ortodosso\u00a0\u00bb, chiesi al mio informatore l&#8217;origine di questa melodia. Secondo lui, la sua introduzione nella liturgia era relativamente recente, ma non poteva darmi maggiori dettagli.<\/p>\n<p>Mi rivolsi allora alla comunit\u00e0 Lubavitch a Gerusalemme attraverso Israel Adler, Yaakov Mazor e Gila Flam, attuale direttrice della fonoteca nazionale israeliana. Dopo una breve indagine, furono in grado di ottenere le seguenti spiegazioni. Nel 1973, quando il movimento Habad era ancora poco diffuso in Francia, un centinaio di ebrei francesi si recarono per le celebrazioni di <img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-89850 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Le-Rabbi-de-loubavitch-259x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Le-Rabbi-de-loubavitch-259x300.jpg 259w, https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Le-Rabbi-de-loubavitch.jpg 498w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/>Tichri dal <strong>Rebbe Lubavitch <\/strong>a New York. Quest&#8217;ultimo, che conosceva particolarmente bene la Francia, avendo studiato per diversi anni alla Sorbona, diede loro un caloroso benvenuto. E durante le <em>hakafo<\/em>t (processioni) di Simha Torah, li raccolse attorno a s\u00e9 ed inizi\u00f2 a cantare la preghiera <em>Haaderet Vehaemuna<\/em> sulle note della Marsigliese. I francesi non credevano alle loro orecchie, ma si resero all\u2019evidenza : il Rebbe stava davvero cantando l&#8217;aria della Marsigliese! Si unirono allora al canto del Rebbe con una gioia ancora pi\u00f9 intensa. Immediatamente dopo le <em>Hakafot<\/em>, molti gruppi di <em>hassidim <\/em>si raccolsero attorno ad uno di questi francesi che stava insegnando la Marsigliese a coloro che desideravano imparare questo nuovo <em>nigun<\/em>. Canti e balli si moltiplicarono nella casa del Rebbe, e presto il canto si diffuse per le strade circostanti per tutta la notte, mentre sempre pi\u00f9 persone si univano alle danze senza fine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audio 1: La Marsigliese cantata dai Lubavitch. Successivamente, il Rebbe giustific\u00f2 la sua decisione facendo notare che l&#8217;inno dei Lubavitch <em>Ufaratsta<\/em> (Ti diffonderai; Genesi 28, 14) corrispondeva sostanzialmente all&#8217;anagramma della parola <em>Tsarfat,<\/em> che in ebraico significa &#8220;Francia&#8221;. Questi due termini erano quindi profondamente e armoniosamente correlati. Roten)<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sentire i Lubavitch cantare la Marsigliese in ebraico \u00e8 tanto pi\u00f9 paradossale quando sappiamo che il fondatore del movimento Habad, il rabbino Schneur Zalman di Lyadi (1745-1813) &#8211; il nipote spirituale del Baal Shem Tov &#8211; si era deliberatamente schierato con i russi contro le invasioni napoleoniche che considerava pericolose per l&#8217;ebraismo ortodosso. D&#8217;altra parte, le parole guerriere di questo inno non lo predisponevano certo ad accompagnare il canto di una preghiera. Ma per i <em>hassidim,<\/em> qualsiasi melodia, la pi\u00f9 impura come la pi\u00f9 banale, contiene una scintilla divina che il <em>devequt<\/em><span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_89880_1('footnote_plugin_reference_89880_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_89880_1('footnote_plugin_reference_89880_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_89880_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[2]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_89880_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Stato d\u2019adesione totale a Dio in tutti gli atti della vita quotidiana<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_89880_1_2').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_89880_1_2', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], });<\/script> permette di sprigionare.<\/p>\n<p>Questa inchiesta sull&#8217;uso della Marsigliese nelle preghiere ha rivelato l&#8217;esistenza di una seconda registrazione proveniente dall&#8217;isola di Djerba (Tunisia). A seguito di una visita di funzionari francesi sull&#8217;isola, la comunit\u00e0 ebraica onor\u00f2 i suoi ospiti cantando il loro inno nazionale. L&#8217;aria rimase nelle memorie e serv\u00ec da cornice per un <em>piyyut<\/em> che viene cantato ancora oggi durante la funzione. L&#8217;intonazione orientale si intreccia con l&#8217;aria originale il che conferisce a questa marsigliese un aspetto originale e per lo meno sorprendente.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audio 3: Djerbian Piyyut cantato in arabo sulla musica della Marsigliese<\/strong><\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-89880-3\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/03_Piyyout-djerbien-chante-en-arabe-sur-lair-de-La-Marseillaise.mp3?_=3\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/03_Piyyout-djerbien-chante-en-arabe-sur-lair-de-La-Marseillaise.mp3\">https:\/\/www.iemj.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/03_Piyyout-djerbien-chante-en-arabe-sur-lair-de-La-Marseillaise.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>Infine, recentemente, il mio amico Jo\u00ebl Rochard, Presidente del Cercle Bernard Lazare, mi ha inviato una e-mail intitolata <em>Rouget de Lisle in soccorso di Ibn Gabirol<\/em>. Mi spiegava che \u00ab\u00a0suo nipote Samuel, 11 anni, aveva delle difficolt\u00e0 ad imparare la preghiera di <em>Adon Olam<\/em>. Gli ho spiegato che questo poema liturgico poteva essere cantato con diverse melodie. Ognuno poteva scegliere l&#8217;aria che voleva.<\/p>\n<p>Gli ho suggerito la Marsigliese. L&#8217;idea gli \u00e8 piaciuta.<\/p>\n<p>Un&#8217;ora dopo conosceva Adon Olam a memoria.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Ammetto di aver provato a fare lo stesso.
