Un antenato di cui non conosciamo n\u00e9 il nome n\u00e9 il luogo di nascita. Immaginate di sentire quella voce in una registrazione, il sorriso nella voce, la forza e forse la tristezza. Si forma un&#8217;immagine di una vita a lungo dimenticata. Questo progetto musicale \u00e8 stato iniziato con frammenti sonori di una cultura che \u00e8 andata quasi completamente sradicata.<\/p>\n<p><em>OVES &#8211; Resonance of the Past<\/em> si propone di costruire un ponte tra il passato ed il presente. E il legame tra antenati e discendenti \u00e8 rappresentato dalla musica.<\/p>\n<p>Con l&#8217;aiuto della genealogista Ayana Kimron, l&#8217;ensemble WAKS ha incontrato quattro discendenti di cantanti le cui voci sono state incise su rulli di cera tra il 1928 ed il 1941 dagli etnomusicologi Sofia Magid e Moshe Beregovsky. Questi cantanti di fine secolo erano Basya Fayler, Shmuel Bronshvayg, Nokhem Shternheim e Rakhmiel e Helena Grin. I loro discendenti hanno raccontato le loro storie di vita, che sono state registrate in questo CD.<\/p>\n<p>Composto da <strong>Inge Mandos<\/strong> alla voce, <strong>Klemens Kaatz<\/strong> al pianoforte ed alla fisarmonica, ed <strong>Hans-Christian Jaenicke<\/strong> al violino, il trio WAKS gioca con la musica, passando da una registrazione su rotolo di cera ad un nuovo arrangiamento in studio.
