When we were young children, when someone was singing us a song, a nursery rhyme, and it was ending, we were always asking… Please, a little more!
My own grandmother, invariably answered me before she started singing again: Nokh a bisele? And me, I always wondered who this Nora was? I used to imagine her appearing in the songs, twirling in the music, mischievous with the notes. Nora Bisele was always there, making her way from my grandmother’s lips to my ears, whenever I would ask “Just a little more”…
Today it is Elsa Signorile (vocals, accordion and guitar) and Raphaële Merdrignac (clarinet, bass clarinet and choir) who sing the stories of Nora Bisele. From French to Yiddish, from Yiddish to French, these are stories of tenderness, nostalgia, joys, revolts, and love… They are stories of life!
So… A little more? Nokh a bisele?
