Minsker Kapelye

The trio’s unique sound, a combination of Belarusian alto cimbalom, clarinet and cello, gives their programs an irresistible touch of ‘real music,’ enjoyed by the audiences of many cultural backgrounds and all generations, from the kindergarten through the age you would want to live to; from conservatory students to the crowd at a rock arena.

Minsker Kapelye has released three albums; they are also featured on an award-winning album “Kalykhanki” (Lullabies), produced by UNICEF (2007). The Minsker Kapelye have performed and/ or recorded with Paul Brody, Michael Alpert, Yale Strom, Frank London, to name just a few. The band has toured European Union and Russia, performing at numerous folk and world music festivals. The band’s latest album, “Tutejsi” (The Locals) released in 2009 has already received critics’ praise.
