Pupil of Gabriel Fauré and Jules Massenet, Second winner of the Grand Prix de Rome in 1896, Fernand Halphen (1872-1917 ) is the author of numerous melodies, pieces for piano and chamber music. This album received the 2007 Orphée d’or for the best melody interpretation from the Académie du Disque Lyrique.
