Cigarillos en el Shtruddle

Pianist David El Shatran and his 12 musicians invite you to a trip to the heart of a “Shtetlito Cubanele” where the Gefilte Fish, fished in Latin America is skilfully stewed in a horseradish-flavored salsa!

1st Album: “When Klezmer Meets Salsa” (Dec 2013)

An amazing fusion whose heart is the Klezmer and the “Bulgars” rhythms, but which does not forbid some Judeo-Spanish influences, nor some borrowing in the fairy repertoire of Disney!

2nd Album: “Somos los Cigarillos” (Dec 2016)

This second part pushes the fusion of the Cigarillos to a more advanced stage: the “Sher”, “Bulgar” and “Freylekhs” of the Klezmer universe, now live alongside “Danzon”, “Timba” and “Salsa Dura”. And while some pieces flourish with “Cumbia”, others are fully immersed in an Afro-Cuban spirituality, where the transcendent energy of the “Nigun” is sublimated by the captivating sounds of Batá drums.
