Colloque international “Jacques Offenbach, musicien européen” – 1ère partie

On the occasion of the bicentenary of Jacques Offenbach

International symposium for Offenbach’s bicentennial organized in Cologne (June 19-20, Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln) and Paris (June 21-22, Opéra Comique).

Researchers from all over Europe will gather to share their recent discoveries about Offenbach, his prolific work, and his European career, between Cologne, Paris, and Vienna. As no other composer was able to address the society of his time so well, the cultural 19th century will also be honored, understood through the experiences and productions of a tireless observer. In collaboration with the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines / University of Paris-Saclay, the École Pratique des Hautes Études, and the Palazzetto Bru Zane.
