Born in Kishinev, which was then part of the Tsarist Russia, Sarah Gorby left for Romania at the age of 17 to study music.

She often travelled, to Paris, Rome, South America, Israel… And with her ease to learn languages, she wrote songs in Romanian, Russian and Yiddish.

Her music shows a real sensitivity, revealing a history full of traditions, of a culture, of a past.
