Shalom Bakou

A film by Murielle Levy

Murielle Levy met the Jewish communities of Azerbaijan.
Before her departure, she knew nothing about this country.
Where to situate it on a map? What is its population?
Between the Caucasus Mountains and the Caspian Sea, in a secular Shia Muslim country, she discovers a Jewish community of about 25 000 people.
The Jews from Azerbaijan are for most of them originally from the mountains, or Ashkenazi.

The filmmaker found there peace, Shalom.
