With four collections (Musical Heritage of Jews from France, Archives, Classical and Discovery) and 25 albums (containing each 1 to 6 CD) for a total of 32 CD’s, the EIJM became a world reference in the field of Jewish music.

The EIJM publication house intends to make people discover and appreciate the Jewish music heritage, in particular by publishing audio recordings.

  • The collection « Musical heritage of Jews from France », based on a strong musicological documentation, highlights the musical traditions of Jews from France as a specific item of the French musical heritage.
  • The collection « Discovery » offers a view on today’s Jewish music, in their cultural diversity.
  • The collection « Classical » opens a gate on the Jewish Art music repertoire.
  • The collection « Archives » lets us rediscover remarkable old recordings entirely remastered.

You’ll have the pleasure to discover in this broadcast a selection of tracks from these collections in which each artist expressed himself freely.

Ethnomusicologist, he quickly developed an interest in the safeguard and digitization of archives, subjects he taught for several years in Reims and Marne-La-Vallée universities.
Author of many articles, books and recordings related to Jewish music, producer of radio programs, Hervé Roten is recognized today as one of the best specialists of Jewish music in the world.
