European Association of Jewish Choirs (EUAJC)

The European Association of Jewish Choirs is an important hub for Jewish choral activities throughout Europe. It facilitates communication between its member choirs and promotes the sharing and exchange of music and musical initiatives.

The association’s primary public role is to coordinate and facilitate choral festivals, which are held annually or as regularly as possible. These festivals include individual choir rehearsals and joint workshops. Each choir has the opportunity to present its repertoire and style during concerts.

Participants also come together for joint activities and workshops to learn and rehearse new pieces, thereby fostering musical exchange and collaboration. The festivals conclude with gala concerts in prestigious venues that highlight the unique character of each choir and the power of collective choral performance.

The first European Jewish Choral Festival took place in London in 2012 under the auspices of the Zemel Choir. Subsequent festivals have taken place in Vienna (2013), Rome (2014), London (2015), Jerusalem (2016), Saint Petersburg (2017), Lviv (2018), Ferrara (2019), Vienna (2023), Sofia (2024), and Paris (2025).
