A musicologist, teacher of musical analysis at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse of Paris, Winner of several awards for composition (Grand Prix de la musique symphonique, Prix Nadia et Lili Boulanger, Académie des Beaux-Arts), François Meïmoun is the author of approximately 40 instrumental and vocal works regularly performed in concerts and festivals worldwide

Several of his works are linked to the Jewish tradition from which he comes, such as Tsimtsoum for string quintet (2015), Pérèk chira for string quartet and piano (2015); Hora for two pianos (2017); La danse de David for cello (2019), Terouah – Psaume 150 for organ (2022)… 

The music score of his Kaddish for mezzo-soprano and string quartet, edited for the first time by the EIJM’s publishing house, was commissioned by the ULIF-Copernic synagogue (Paris) who performed it as a world premiere on November 13, 2016, as part of a concert dedicated to the memory of all the victims of terrorism.
