This broadcast, presented by Hélène Engel, presents the twelfth volume of the Musical Heritage of French Jews collection.
This twelfth volume is devoted to religious and festive songs from Jewish communities in northern France (Flanders, Picardy, Artois, Champagne, etc.) in the second half of the 13th century, performed by the Ensemble Alla Francesca.

Hélène Engel is a singer, musicologist, author, composer and arranger. She is interested in all aspects of Jewish music, from the collecting of historical sounds to today’s compositions. Based in Montreal, she hosts the radio show ” The hidden sides of Jewish Music” on Radio SHALOM Montreal.
