Tape cinq ! – Staïffi et ses Mustafa’s

Staïffi je t'aime, Staïffi je t'adore

Albert Darmon, known as Staïffi, has just given to the European Institute for Jewish Music two CDs containing 24 of his most famous songs.

These discs plunge us back into the atmosphere of the cabarets of the years 1950-1960 where one mingled oriental instruments and Afro-Cuban and American rhythms on music of dances (jerk, tango, cha-cha-cha …).

Reissued in 2001 by Universal Music, The CD Tape cinq ! is a 4-track EP (« Tape cinq ! », « La tchoutchouka », « Yaholélé », « Les filles de Boufarik ») remastered from an eponymous album released in 1965 at Barclay.

Published in 2010 by Sony Music, the CD Staïffi je t’aime, Staïffi je t’adore contains 20 songs published by Vogue between 1955 and 1964, among which the famous song « Mustafa (Chérie je t’aime, chérie je t’adore ) », but also « Faubourg-Montmartre », « Mon pays », « Le ana sentimental » or « Les oignons ».
