Launched in 2017 by Christopher Silver, assistant professor of Jewish history and culture at McGill University, Gharamophone.com is dedicated to preserving North Africa’s Jewish musical past.

The website features about fifty 78 rpm records, which can be listened to, along with an in-depth presentation of each record and the context in which it was recorded.
