Academy for Jewish Religion

Since its founding in 1956 as a rabbinical school, the Academy for Jewish Religion (AJR) has been at the forefront of pluralistic rabbinic and cantorial training.

The library at AJR includes a core collection of more than 10,000 books, periodicals, sheet music, recordings and other media supporting the multi-denominational aspects of academic and spiritual learning at the Academy. The collection ranges from classical texts to works on philosophy, history, Israel, music, liturgy and issues facing modern Jews. Library services include research assistance, inter-library loan and access to the Internet.
