This program explores the transition from popular Sephardic song to art music in the early 20th century, in a Paris that was a hub for musical creation and archives.

It juxtaposes traditional Judeo-Spanish songs (romances, kantigas, coplas…) passed down through oral tradition with works by 20th-century composers such as Alberto Hemsi, Léon Algazi, Joaquín Rodrigo, and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, who transformed these folk sources into true works of vocal art.

A unique concert. Not to be missed under any circumstances!
