A film written and directed by Jean-Gabriel Davis

Images : Thomas Coispel / Sound : Martin Reger

During a trip through Europe between September 2013 and February 2013, Jean-Gabriel Davis met young people involved in the renewal of Yiddish culture in Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania and Romania. They exchange thoughts about language, history, Judaism. These unknown people become thus “giants, standing on the shoulders of Sholem Aleichem”, and present Jean-Gabriel Davis presents a picture of the strange context one must work to perpetuate the Yiddish culture today.
