Adolphe Attia Collection

Cantor at the Grande Synagogue de la Victoire for 53 years (1961 to 2014), Adolphe Attia performed for several decades on French radio – notably on Léon Algazi ‘s Kol Israël program, where he succeeded Emile Kaçmann as soloist – and in numerous concerts, both in France and abroad. He has recorded several CDs that have made him one of the leading figures in French Ashkenazi liturgical music.

The Adolphe Attia archives include over 250 documents of all kinds, mainly collected between 2010 and 2023.

They include:

– numerous audio recordings of concerts and discs, as well as tapes of Ashkenazi Victory liturgies
– sheet music
– photos, posters and concert programs retracing his career
In July 2023, Adolphe Attia presented the IEMJ with a set of new documents (including photos, concert programs and posters), which were digitized in early 2024.
